War of the Ballads

Posted on Thursday 4 August 2005

Tim (Penner), Mike (Friesen) and I were out and about last night and came to the conclusion that a great ballad would make a great wedding. My choice duet for my bride and I, would be the song I would do Anything for Love by Meatloaf, but Always by Bon Jovi is a contender, too. I’m open for other suggestions on the ideal love ballad. Anything to out do Marc Cohn.

The problem, Tim, with trying to outdo Marc Cohn is that MARC COHN CANNOT BE OUTDONE.

If you’re not going to suggest another ballad, then don’t be defending Marc Cohn. If he can’t be outdone, then I’m sure he can defend himself. Besides, I’m only looking for more options, not the Best of the Ballads.

The point is, I don’t have to suggest another ballad. Mark Cohn is the be-all-end-all of the ballad-writers.
